TaikoArts & The Carlson Foundation

Taiko - tay·kow: a Japanese barrel-shaped drum.

TaikoArts uses traditional Japanese drumming to strengthen and build community across the Midwest. Utilizing the high-energy performance drumming art as a conduit for encouraging physical activity, increasing focus and concentration, integrating the mind, body and spirit connection and building confidence within players, TaikoArts believes drumming - and all that it entails - can be a tool for healing, empowerment and inclusion for all.

TaikoArts Midwest recently received a $10,000 grand from the Carlson Family Foundation to continue their work with BIPOC and LGBTQ youth.

Here's a glimpse into the world of TaikoArts.
