Katie is a writer, photographer and cinematographer. Prior to founding Far on Foot, she lived in Kenya for more than a decade as a freelance journalist. Katie has broken front-page stories for The New York Times, Al Jazeera, BBC, Frontline PBS, and The Telegraph, and has a natural eye for visual beauty and a brain for human-centered narratives.

She loves analog film, Seinfeld jokes, petting all the dogs, AP Style and not being shot at. She’s usually dressed in all black.

JOSH CARLON

Josh is a video producer, filmmaker, editor and animator whose work has been featured by National Geographic, Tribeca Film Festival, PBS and the Walker Art Center.

In his twenty-year career, Josh has worked nearly every imaginable position in the corporate and nonprofit video creation pipeline. He likes big stories with small footprints, specializing in lifestyle content, documentaries, global stories and short films made with small, nimble teams.

Aside from filmmaking, Josh is an obsessive traveler, opting to explore the strange and unusual rather than walking a well-beaten path. His favorite place on earth is House on the Rock, which is subsequently, Katie’s least favorite.
